2.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Custom Content: Quiz questions, poems, word lists you create (Premium feature)
• Game Progress: XP points, levels, streaks, game scores
• User Preferences: Settings, selected avatars, difficulty levels

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: iOS version, device model (for compatibility)
• Usage Data: Game sessions, features used, app crashes (anonymous)
• Purchase History: Subscription status, transaction IDs (via Apple)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information solely to:

• Provide App Functionality: Save your game progress and custom content
• Sync Across Devices: Use iCloud to sync your data (free for all users)
• Process Purchases: Manage subscriptions via Apple's App Store
• Improve the App: Fix bugs, optimize performance, add features
• Comply with Laws: Respond to legal requests if required

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Local Storage

• All data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure storage mechanisms
• Data is encrypted using iOS native encryption

4.2 iCloud Sync (Free for All Users)

• Game progress and content is synced via Apple CloudKit (iCloud.com.habitquest.app)
• Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (Apple's encryption)
• Only accessible to devices signed in with your Apple ID
• You can disable iCloud sync in the app Settings → Profile

4.3 Payment Information

• All payment processing is handled by Apple App Store
• We never receive or store your credit card or payment details
• We only receive anonymized transaction confirmation from Apple

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We DO NOT sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except:

• Apple Inc.: For iCloud sync and In-App Purchases (governed by Apple's Privacy Policy)
• Legal Obligations: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority
• App Transfer: In case of merger, acquisition, or sale (users will be notified)

6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA Compliance)

6.2 Delete Your Data

• Local Data: Delete the app to remove all local data
• iCloud Data: Settings → Premium → "Delete All iCloud Data" (Premium users)
• Subscription Data: Cancel subscription in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions

6.3 Data Portability

• Export your custom content: Settings → Premium → "Export Data"
• Exported as JSON file compatible with other apps

6.4 Withdraw Consent

• Disable iCloud sync: iOS Settings → iCloud → Toggle off HabitsQuest
• Opt-out of analytics: App Settings → Profile → Analytics → Toggle off

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

HabitsQuest is designed for educational purposes and is safe for children 4+.

• We DO NOT knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
• No registration, login, or personal data required
• Parental consent required for In-App Purchases (enforced by iOS)
• If you believe a child has provided data, contact us immediately

8. Data Retention

• Local Data: Retained until you delete the app
• iCloud Data: Retained until you delete it or disable iCloud sync
• Analytics: Anonymous aggregated data kept for 90 days (TelemetryDeck)
• Purchases: History kept by Apple according to their policy

9. Detailed Analytics

9.1 Tracked Events (Anonymous)

We track the following events to improve the application:

• Lifecycle: app_launched, app_backgrounded, app_terminated
• Onboarding: onboarding_started, onboarding_completed, onboarding_skipped
• Games: game_started, game_completed, game_abandoned
• Progression: level_up, xp_earned, streak_achieved
• Premium: premium_purchased, premium_restored, premium_cancelled
• Content: custom_content_created, custom_content_played
• Sync: cloudkit_sync_success, cloudkit_sync_failed
• Errors: error_occurred (with anonymous error type)

9.2 Analytics (TelemetryDeck)

• ❌ IP Address (hashed only for deduplication)
• ❌ Device identifiers (IDFA/IDFV)
• ❌ Email or username
• ❌ Game content or answers
• ❌ Precise geographic location

10. Cookies and Similar Technologies

HabitsQuest does NOT use cookies as it is a native iOS application, not a website.

• We use iOS UserDefaults to store preferences locally
• No tracking or advertising cookies
• No web tracking technologies

11. International Data Transfers

• iCloud: Apple servers in the EU (GDPR compliant)
• TelemetryDeck: Hetzner servers in Germany (EU)
• App Store: Apple's global infrastructure (EU standard contractual clauses)
